Quantum nondemolition measurements in the relativistic Dirac oscillator

چکیده
We investigate the feasibility of performing quantum nondemolition (QND) measurements in one-dimensional Dirac oscillator, a frequently used toy model to relativistic extensions nonrelativistic effects. derive general expressions for its QND observables and find that they are complex combinations position, momentum, spin operators, which makes them challenging realize experimentally. However, situation is considerably simplified both weakly strongly limits, where should be amenable an experimental demonstration. This suggests exploiting continuous small departures from character these variables intermediate regime as probes

متن کاملQuantum nondemolition measurements in a Paul trap
In this work a family of quantum nondemolition variables for the case of a particle caught in a Paul trap is obtained. Afterwards, in the context of the so called restricted path integral formalism, a continuous measuring process for this family of parameters is considered, and then the corresponding propagators are calculated. In other words, the time evolution of a particle in a Paul trap, wh...
متن کاملQuantum nondemolition measurements and non–Newtonian gravity
In the present work the detection, by means of a nondemolition measurement, of a Yukawa term, coexisting simultaneously with gravity, has been considered. In other words, a nondemolition variable for the case of a particle immersed in a gravitational field containing a Yukawa term is obtained. Afterwards the continuous monitoring of this nondemolition parameter is analyzed, the corresponding pr...
متن کاملQuantum nondemolition measurements of a qubit coupled to a harmonic oscillator
We theoretically describe the weak measurement of a two-level system qubit and quantify the degree to which such a qubit measurement has a quantum nondemolition QND character. The qubit is coupled to a harmonic oscillator, which undergoes a projective measurement. Information on the qubit state is extracted from the oscillator measurement outcomes, and the QND character of the measurement is in...
متن کاملHigh-fidelity adaptive qubit detection through repetitive quantum nondemolition measurements.
Using two trapped ion species ((27)Al(+) and (9)Be(+)) as primary and ancillary quantum systems, we implement qubit measurements based on the repetitive transfer of information and quantum nondemolition detection. The repetition provides a natural mechanism for an adaptive measurement strategy, which leads to exponentially lower error rates compared to using a fixed number of detection cycles. ...
